Weave Support
This is the official support page for Weave, a premium, non-algorithmic iOS news reader from Sunrise Web Studios LLC. The answers below cover the questions we hear most often. If none of them solves your problem, email us directly.
Support, privacy questions, and account requests all go to this address.
Account and sign-in
You can read in Weave without an account. Signing in is what keeps your setup aligned across your devices: sources, imported RSS, folders, Beats, your Saved article list, read state, and core settings.
Weave supports Sign in with Apple, Google, and email sign-in using a one-time code sent to your address. If the code does not arrive, check your spam folder, confirm the address you entered, and request a new one, since codes expire.
Sign Out and account deletion are both available in Weave's account settings. Deleting your account removes account-linked data, subject to the limited retention described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your Weave account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that separately through Apple.
Weave Pro, purchases, and restoring purchases
Weave Pro is an optional upgrade. It raises the Source limit from 150 to 2,000, extends keyword archive search from 7 days to 30 days, and removes the sponsored cards that Free users see. Beats, folders, and Saved articles are not limited by tier.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment card details.
Restoring purchases. After reinstalling Weave or setting up a new device, open the Weave Pro screen and tap Restore Purchases. Restoring works from Apple's purchase record rather than your Weave account, so make sure the device is signed in to the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.
Managing or cancelling a subscription. Renewal, cancellation, and billing are handled by Apple. Use Manage Subscription on the Weave Pro screen, or open Settings on your device, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. Refunds for App Store purchases are issued by Apple, not by us, so refund requests need to go through Apple.
If a purchase completed but Pro is not active, try Restore Purchases first. If that does not resolve it, email us and include the Apple Account email used for the purchase and the approximate date and time of the transaction.
Imported RSS
Weave supports imported RSS. You can add feed URLs directly and import an OPML file exported from another reader, then organize imported feeds alongside Weave's built-in Sources.
Imported RSS is fetched on your device rather than through Weave's servers. Two things follow from that: an imported feed updates only when Weave can reach it from your device, and imported feeds count toward your Source limit.
If an import or a single feed fails, confirm that the URL points to a working RSS or Atom feed and that the publisher has not moved, retired, or restricted it. Feeds that require a login or block automated requests cannot be read by any RSS reader, including Weave.
Saved articles and offline reading
Saving an article does two separate things, and it helps to keep them apart.
Your Saved list is sync state. When you are signed in, it can sync across your devices, so an article you save on your iPhone shows up in Saved on your iPad.
The offline copy is a download, and it stays on the device where it was downloaded. Offline copies are not transferred between devices. In the example above, the offline copy lives on the iPhone, so the iPad needs a connection the first time you open that article there.
If a Saved article will not open while you are offline, that device most likely does not have its own downloaded copy, or the publisher's page could not be extracted when the article was saved. Reconnect and open the article again.
Beats
Beats are keyword trackers that monitor a topic. They are not RSS fetch jobs and they do not add feeds to your library. A Beat's name acts as its primary keyword, and the comma-separated keywords you add broaden what can match it.
Beats match against Weave's server-side article archive, which ingests Weave's built-in Sources. Imported RSS is fetched on your device and never enters that archive, so Beats do not cover imported RSS feeds.
A Beat that returns little or nothing usually needs broader or more commonly used keywords, or is tracking a topic that Weave's built-in Sources have not published on recently.
Reporting a technical problem
Email hello@sunrisewebstudios.com. The more of the following you can include, the faster we can reproduce the problem:
- Your device model and iOS version.
- The Weave version, if you know it.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- Whether you were signed in, and whether Weave Pro is active.
- The specific Source, feed URL, Beat, or article involved, when the problem affects only one.
- A screenshot or screen recording, if the problem is visual.
Please do not include passwords or one-time sign-in codes in email. We will never ask you for them.
