Privacy Policy
Weave is a premium, non-algorithmic iOS news reader from Sunrise Web Studios LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information Weave may collect, how it is used, the services that help operate Weave, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Weave, we may process the following information:
- Account and authentication data. This may include your email address, account identifier, display name, sign-in provider details, session information, and related authentication records needed to create and maintain your account.
- Email login information. If you sign in by email, Weave or its authentication provider may send login, verification, passwordless sign-in, or account-related emails to the address you provide.
- Sources and imports. Weave may store the RSS feeds, source selections, OPML imports, custom source URLs, categories, folders, and related source metadata you add or choose.
- Reading and sync state. Weave may store saved-article state, read/unread state, feed preferences, Beats, settings, and other sync data so your reading experience can work across sessions or devices.
- Search and topic information. Search terms used for Source discovery, Beat keywords, Google News queries, and similar information may be processed when you use those features.
- Purchase and subscription status. If you subscribe or make an in-app purchase, payment is handled by Apple. We may receive limited entitlement, product, transaction, and subscription status information needed to unlock paid features.
Information That Stays on Your Device
Offline copies of Saved article bodies remain on the device where they were saved and are not synced as article-body files to Weave's servers. Weave's article notifications are generated locally on your device rather than through a remote push-notification service.
How We Use Information
We use information to operate Weave, authenticate accounts, sync reading data, provide paid features, maintain account records, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve the reliability of the app.
RSS, OPML, and Third-Party Content
Weave helps you read content from third-party publishers and RSS sources. When you add RSS feeds or import OPML files, source URLs and related feed metadata may be stored so the app can organize and sync those Sources. Imported RSS articles are fetched on your device. Third-party publishers may have their own privacy practices when their websites or content are loaded outside Weave or through web views.
Source Discovery
When you search for Sources or attempt to discover an RSS feed, the search term or URL may be sent to Sunrise Web Studios infrastructure to perform the request. Our server may temporarily process your IP address for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting. This information is not used to build an advertising profile.
Subscriptions and Apple
Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive limited product, transaction, entitlement, and subscription-status information needed to provide paid features. Apple's privacy policy and App Store terms apply to Apple's processing of purchase information.
Sponsored Placements
Free users of Weave may see native sponsored cards provided through Google AdMob. Paid subscribers do not receive these ads.
When sponsored content is enabled, Google's advertising services may process information such as your IP address, approximate location derived from your IP address, device identifiers, advertising data, interactions with ads, crash information, and performance or diagnostic information for purposes that may include delivering, measuring, securing, and improving advertising services.
Where required, Weave uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request and manage advertising consent and privacy choices. When applicable, privacy choices can also be accessed from within Weave's settings.
Weave does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not access the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA). Sunrise Web Studios does not use information collected by Weave to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Google's processing of information through its advertising services is governed by Google's own privacy practices. You can review the Google Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
Weave relies on service providers to operate certain features:
- Supabase provides account authentication, database, and synchronization infrastructure.
- Google Sign-In may be used when you choose to sign in with Google.
- Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform provide sponsored-content delivery and applicable advertising-consent controls for Free users.
- Apple processes App Store subscriptions and in-app purchases.
These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms as necessary to provide their services.
No Sale of Personal Information
Sunrise Web Studios LLC does not sell your personal information.
Cookies and Tracking on This Site
This static website does not use analytics scripts, tracking pixels, external JavaScript, or cookies.
Data Sharing
We may share information with service providers described above when necessary to operate Weave, including authentication, synchronization, hosting, advertising, email, infrastructure, and purchase-entitlement services. We may also disclose information if required to comply with law, protect rights and safety, prevent abuse, or complete a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Weave, maintain account records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Some information may be retained in backups or logs for a limited period.
Your Choices
You may update or remove Sources in the app, manage advertising privacy options when available, manage App Store subscriptions through Apple, and manage or delete your Weave account from within the app. Account deletion removes account-linked data subject to limited retention where required for legal, security, backup, or operational purposes.
Children
Weave is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate.
